The decline of Kobe Bryant

Posted by slammo in Kobe, Lakers

Kobe Bryant will soon enter his twilight years. We saw shades of it the last few seasons. He’s only 32 years old but he’s played in 15 NBA seasons; that’s 1054 regular season games and 198 playoff games. He suffered a serious finger injury that no surgery can fully repair. He’s had knee injury in the off-season. Even though Kobe’s still putting up his numbers, he lacks explosiveness and his jumpshot is not as good as it used to be due to tired legs. And even after all these years, he still can’t break his habit of not trusting his team mates.

Other teams have also improved and look more dominant than the Lakers: Spurs, Heat, Celtics and even Magic appear to be a better team after their trade. This season is possibly the most difficult championship run for Kobe and co. With Phil leaving and his body breaking down, this may be his last shot.
