Ken Mink, 73 years old scores 2 points in a college basketball game

Posted by Admin in News

Ken Mink has just become the oldest baller in the world. At the ripe old age of 73, Mink scored 2 points Monday night for Roane State Community College. The AP reports that Mink entered the game with about 16 minutes left in the second half and attempted one shot in about three minutes. Seven minutes later, he went back in the game, was fouled and made two free throws.

“I found myself on the free-throw line 52 years after my last college game,” Mink said. “I said, ‘Just relax and shoot it like you know how to all day long.’ I just floated the shots in there. I’m in the books now. I can relax a little bit.”

He played ball during the 1955-56 season, averaging 11.8 points a game. However, he never made it to his second-year season because he was expelled for a prank he claims not to have committed.

A 34-year-old woman has been charged with stalking Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton.  Stacy Elizabeth Beshear of El Segundo was arrested Sept. 18 after she pulled up to Walton’s car and pretended to fire gunshots at him with her hand.  Beshear has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of stalking. A Nov. 6 trial date has been set in the case.

District attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said Beshear faces up to a year in county jail if convicted. Walton said Beshear has been harassing him since late last year.   He told The Orange County Register she waited outside his Manhattan  Beach home numerous times and wrote on his car with a marker after  he refused to sign an autograph.  Walton said Beshear is “not all there in the head.”

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban responds to a blogger’s message.

from Techcrunch.com:

When video blogger Loren Feldman wrote “Mark Cuban is not a tech visionary. He is a lucky bastard. Broadcast.com was a joke,” Cuban responded:

mark cuban – August 28th, 2008 at 12:35 am PDT

you people talk a lot of shit for being clueless.

hey loren, what do you even know about broadcast.com ?

Yeah Im lucky. And proud to be. I was lucky with MicroSolutions when we started selling LANS in 1983 before anyone else and sold to compuserve. I was lucky selling corporate business applications I wrote and developed. I was lucky with Precept, a hedge fund built on my tech background that I sold (didnt know about that one did you..). I was lucky with broadcast.com , I was lucky to start HDNet years before anyone else thought HD had a chance, lucky with about 10 other companies too.

I will keep on getting lucky, you guys will keep on writing comments on blogs.

Stephon Marbury Buys a 45 Million Dollar Jet

Posted by Admin in News
stephon-marbury

There’s a rumor going around that Stephon Marbury just purchased a brand new $45 million dollar private jet.

From NYpost.com:

Marbury – in the last year of his Knicks contract, which will pay him another $21 million – is said to have plunked down about $45 million for the aircraft.

If this rumor is true, Starbury should have taken P-Diddy’s advice who already owns a jet, and isn’t using it because fuel costs are too motherf*cking high. Check out the Diddy clip below.

Shaq statue in Chaoyang Park, Beijing

Why is there a statue of Shaq in one of Beijing’s most popular parks?

This part of the park is filled with basketball courts and pingpong tables and is sponsored by Li Ning, a Chinese sportswear giant, sort of an Asian Nike. Li Ning is the former Olympic gold-medal gymnast who lighted the torch during the Beijing opening ceremony. Li Ning commissioned the statue of Shaq two years ago after O’Neal signed a five year endorsement deal.

Someone give Shaq a mic so he can ask  ‘Kobe, tell me how my Statue tastes’.

During an interview about the launch of her new video-sharing Web site, Shaunie O’Neal told The Associated Press that the couple plans to stop divorce proceedings soon.

“Neither one of us could probably answer why we were getting one in the first place,” Shaunie O’Neal said.

Shaquille O’Neal filed for divorce in Miami-Dade Circuit Court in September 2007, after nearly five years of marriage.

“Things have been going so great, that someone actually had to remind us that ‘Hey, you do remember those papers are still there.’ Literally, it was days ago,” Shaunie O’Neal said. “So, we’ve agreed that before we leave Florida in a few days we’ll make sure that that’s gone away.”

The couple has six children: four together, and each had one of their own before the Dec. 26, 2002, wedding.

Atlanta Hawks’ Center Zaza Pachulia on CNN last night:

“It’s very important. First of all, with the U.S. being involved, like they are involved today, there will be no war and there will be peace in the country. That’s a very important thing, I think, you know. It’s not only about Georgia. The whole world don’t want to see war. So obviously the U.S. is a huge country. They have a huge impact in the world. So it’s very important for them to be aggressive and stop the war and stop Russian aggression.”

Since the fighting broke out, Pachulia has been very active in spreading the message of peace. He attended rallies on Sunday and Tuesday night, and has appeared on CNN twice.

After scoring 24 points in Germany’s opening win over Angola on Sunday, Kaman said his father told him, “You’re not German, you’re American.”

Kaman says that’s not exactly right.

“He said, ‘When you’re playing the USA, I’m going for USA, basically,’ ” Kaman said. “He didn’t want to support me when I played the USA. He said, ‘I hope the USA beats you.’

“I figured I was an American, I’m playing for Germany, traitor is the first thing that comes to your mind,” Kaman said after Tuesday’s 87-64 wipeout by Greece.

“But I don’t care. I’m here to do what I want to do. I’m not here to please everybody else. . . .

“I’m happy with my decision. I’m still an American citizen. I still play in the NBA. I still live in Los Angeles. I’m still from Michigan. I just chose to go with my heritage a little farther back and see if they’d allow me to play for them and I did.”
