Ron Artest advertises Lamar Kardashian’s fragrance

Artest should’ve kept the act going and avoid the question altogether. But we wouldn’t have him calling out Kwame Brown and Nazr Mohammed. Classic Ron.

Marvel NBA gear revealed

Posted by slammo in Celtics, Knicks, Lakers, News

Basketball nerds and comic book nerds shake their heads in unison. These designs look like bootlegs you can find at your local Chinatown. Very lazy designs all around. We all knew it was a quick cash grab scheme but damn. It’s as if they spent less than 30 minutes in photoshop for each design. They seem to be targeting the young crowd rather than young adults with disposable income. Bad move. Marvel NBA gear is set to debut All-Star weekend.

Even this kid thinks Pau Gasol is soft

Posted by slammo in Funny, Lakers

Apparently Heidi Klum has a show about kids. *kanye shrug*. Here she interviews a Laker fanboy about his thoughts on Pau Gasol. The kid is not impressed when Pau shows up.

For the whole show, the segment starts around 18 minute mark.

Dwight Howard to become a Laker?

Posted by slammo in Dwight Howard, Lakers

Dwight Howard will be a free agent in summer 2012. Sources close to him say he’s interested in Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks. Howard will only stay in Orlando as long as they’re championship contenders which will not happen this season and unlikely the next. It would be silly for Howard to go to New York, his play style doesn’t compliment Amar’e Stoudemire’s. He should follow his father’s footstep and head to the Lakers. His father being Shaq, of course.

Otis Smith’s desperate trade of bringing back Turk, adding Gilbert Arenas and Jason Richardson did not make them better significantly. Howard is the only consistent player on the Magic. No one has stepped up to be #2 or #3 option. Jameer Nelson’s play dropped off significantly and will most likely be used to trade for a backup big man. With Matt Barnes and Mickael Pietrus gone, they have no good defender to throw at Kobe, Pierce, LeBron. They are not an elite team right now. Sunday’s game against Boston Celtics proves my point.

“Sure babe”
“The fragrance is close to being released, let’s make a commercial”

“You should take your shirt off for the commercial”

The Black Mamba needs Black Swan sidekick

Kobe Bryant commenting on Pau Gasol’s play style and what he’d like to see.

“Even when he was in Memphis and he was the go-to guy, he was always very nice. Very white swan. I need him to be black swan. Be an (expletive) sometimes.”

Perfect. Kobe you’re the best.

Mitch Kupchak sends warning

Posted by slammo in Lakers

There’s been one consistency for the Los Angeles Lakers this season: flat and lackluster plays. Mitch Kupchak responded to trades talk after the Lakers’ poor performance against Boston Celtics on Sunday.

“Regarding a trade, I may have to. I’m not saying that I’ve made calls today or I’ll make them tomorrow.”

“I try to be as objective as possible, but I’m concerned,” he said. “Our record is certainly OK. But we’ve lost a bunch of home games. We’ve lost a couple of big games at home and to me, those are red flags

Mitch doesn’t talk trades, he makes ’em happen. Remember the Jason Kidd to Lakers rumors? It was just that, rumors. Compare that with the Pau Gasol trade. This is to light the fire under players’ asses. Players are to blame especially for their poor defense. At the same time, Phil Jackson’s coaching habits stifles change. Steve Blake is under utilized in the triangle. Phil still doesn’t trust young players, Pau Gasol is feeling fatigue from heavy minutes logged at the beginning of the season. Lakers better get their act together soon because at this point they won’t get past the Spurs.

Players potentially on the block: Ron Artest, Shannon Brown, Andrew Bynum.

And 1, count it! It was bad enough the Lakers completely demolish the Jazz. Odom had to to put his stamp on the 30+ point lead.
