How Kobe and LeBron respond to tough losses

Posted by slammo in Funny, Heat, Kobe, Lakers, LeBron

Kobe Bryant goes back on the court and practice his shots after losing to Miami last night. Those extra jump shots in practice will definitely prevent him from taking 20 contested jumpers in the fourth quarter.

After getting humiliated by the Spurs, LeBron James tweets about being in an imaginary war.

20+ games left in phase 2. I’m ReFOCUSED! No prisoners, I have no friends when at WAR besides my Soldiers.

His refocus is realizing he should be Robin to Dwyane Wade’s Batman. Chris Bosh is Alfred the butler, of course.

Cryami mask

Everyone should have this mask or something similar when the Cryami Weep comes to town. Lakers don’t let us down, keep the fail train moving!

Ron Artest sympathizes with Heat crying, Melo and Stat doesn’t

Ron Artest keeps frontin. Everyone knows you can’t hug your therapist!

Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire weren’t as compassionate. via ESPN

When the locker room first opened to reporters after the game, Stoudemire and Anthony were bantering and laughing about players on the Miami Heat crying after their loss earlier Sunday to the Chicago Bulls, with Stoudemire fingering Chris Bosh(notes) as the watery-eyed one (although Bosh, when asked by reporters in Miami whether he had cried, said he almost had but did not).

“I heard Chris Bosh was crying tears,” Stoudemire said.

“Tears?” Anthony asked.

“Yeah, tears,” Stoudemire replied.

“Wait ’til I call him, man,” Anthony said. “I’ll be like: ‘What are you doing?'”

Very appropriate response for two very competitive players. Heat deserve to get clowned for this soft shit. This is a regular season game. C’mon! Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and all the other greats are shaking their head in disgust at the Heat.

Ron Artest aims to please

Posted by slammo in Funny, Lakers, Ron Artest

With Rasheed Wallace retired and Zack Randolph mellowing out, the league sorely lacks craziness that make the game more interesting. Ron Artest may not be as crazy as he was in his early career but he’s still able to provide games like this. The video doesn’t show it but Artest kissed his biceps after flexing.

Later he went after the ball and crashed into fans. Hilarity ensued.

Kobe Bryant is still on top

Posted by slammo in All-star, Dunks, Heat, Kobe, Lakers, LeBron

The game is best summarized into this clip. Kobe Bryant, the old man in the all-star bunch, triumphs over LeBron James who’s taking this exhibition game way too seriously. LeBron is still bitter he didn’t win All-Star MVP last year.

Jerry West gets his own statue

Posted by slammo in Lakers, News

The All-star weekend began with the unveiling of Jerry West’s statue outside Staples Center. The NBA logo now has his own statue. He’s immortalized along with fellow Laker Magic Johnson, legendary Laker broadcaster Chick Hearn, Wayne Gretzky and Oscar De la Hoya. All the big names in NBA history showed up to pay respect including Pat Riley, teammate Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Shaquille O’Neal, and even Pau Gasol. Kobe Bryant sent a video, he’s probably still bitter about West’s (“Lakers won’t be good much longer“) and Johnson’s criticism of Lakers’ recent struggles. Congrats to “Mr. Clutch,” the man who always shied away from the spotlight.

Other stars have commercials, he doesn’t. Fair comparison. Fall back Laker fans. Ron is just trying to get his money right. He’s focus on getting paid. Don’t knock his hustle. And like his mixtape, his defense is coming soon. Queensbridge!

Lakers hit a new low

Posted by slammo in Cavs, Kobe, Lakers

The Lakers love to create drama and make it interesting for their fans. After handing the Cavs their worst loss in franchise history, they laid down and got whooped in Cleveland. Ron Artest hasn’t shown up for most of the year and it may be because his mind is on making a rap album and promoting his crew.Ron tweeted this shortly after the game:

CHECK OUT THE MIXTAPE PROMO THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT SORRY FOR THE LOST http://noyseworks.com/download/ron_artest_promo.mp4 FIRE FIYAHH!!!

There’s a popular stat going around about Kobe Bryant’s shot selection. It says Lakers are more likely to lose when he attempts more than 20 shots. Kobe attempted 24 last night, only making 8. Kobe’s known to not adhere to the triangle but it’s not fair to solely blame him when Lakers don’t play well. People praise Larmar Odom for his versatility but he rarely shows up when his team needs him. Last night he only had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Lakers played poorly and got outworked, out hustled by the worst team in the league. Silly Laker fans are panicking and screaming trade for Melo. Embarrasing lost by defending champs but they’ll be fine.
