The All-Star weekend is coming up this week. And what better to usher it in than showcasing colorful shoes that will only be worn at the All-star game. Above are the Nike Zoom Kobe VI in fiery red. Kobe’s and Lebron’s (below) Nike LeBron 8 V/2 have reflective material on the tongue, the logo morphs from each player’s logo to conference logo. The rest are Kevin Durant’s reddified Nike Zoom KD3, Derrick Rose’s all-yellow adidas adiZero Rose, and Kevin Garnett’s silvered-up Anta KG1. Rose’s shoe would look great with a Laker jersey.

Kevin Garnett is once again making headlines for his cheap antics. Contrary to Mark Jackson’s views (who should be banned from television for sheer stupidity), Garnett clearly hit Frye in the groin area. Garnett responded recently via GreenStreet,

We “played a back-to-back in Phoenix. This game was physical as well and super ugly. I never apologize for my actions, as I play with passion. I actually got ejected for (the ref said) ‘talking too much.’ Can you believe that? It was unfortunate, and I hate to leave my team out there without being around to support them. Doc [Rivers] got ejected and then fined $15,000 for not leaving the court in a timely manner. A TIMELY MANNER. WOW. The game ended, and we got worked over. It could’ve been the back-to-back and travel, but they played well.”

In short, he’s saying “I’m an asshole and I will not apologize for being an asshole”. Even Bruce Bowen would think Garnett is more dirty than him.

GP says that KG should not be a starting for the Eastern Conference All Star Team. He thinks the spot should go to Chris Bosh. Although Bosh leads KG in almost all stat categories, the Raptors are going no where this year. The Celt’s are a much better team with 3 stars. They don’t need alot from KG whereas the Raptors need all that Bosh can give. When needed, KG could be a stat beast. Its his potential and intensity that captures the fans votes.
