Adidas recently launched new commercials for their flagship stars Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose. It features slick animation and plays on the duality of the stars’ personality, Dwight being loud and Derrick as the quiet guy. This is much more affective than the old commercials with Dr. Ken that went for the funny angle.

Dwight Howard will be a free agent in summer 2012. Sources close to him say he’s interested in Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks. Howard will only stay in Orlando as long as they’re championship contenders which will not happen this season and unlikely the next. It would be silly for Howard to go to New York, his play style doesn’t compliment Amar’e Stoudemire’s. He should follow his father’s footstep and head to the Lakers. His father being Shaq, of course.

Otis Smith’s desperate trade of bringing back Turk, adding Gilbert Arenas and Jason Richardson did not make them better significantly. Howard is the only consistent player on the Magic. No one has stepped up to be #2 or #3 option. Jameer Nelson’s play dropped off significantly and will most likely be used to trade for a backup big man. With Matt Barnes and Mickael Pietrus gone, they have no good defender to throw at Kobe, Pierce, LeBron. They are not an elite team right now. Sunday’s game against Boston Celtics proves my point.

In an interview with Fanhouse on Monday, Dwight said he’s “retired for life”

“I don’t want to do it,” Howard, 25, said after the Magic practiced at the Pepsi Center on Monday in preparation for Tuesday’s game against Denver. “I want to let other people have an opportunity to shine. I (have done) the dunk contest too many times. I’m over with it.”
