Everybody gets traded!

Posted by slammo in Blazers, Cavs, Celtics, Clippers, Hawks, News, Rockets, Suns, Wizards

“You’re getting traded! You’re getting traded! You’re getting traded!” -Oprah

One of the craziest trade deadline just ended. Mike Bibby thought he was going to play in the playoffs, he got sent to Washington and will never know how victory feels again. Baron Davis thought he’d be throwing alley-oops to Blake Griffin, Donald Sterling banished him to the worst team in the league for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon. Houston gave up Shane Battier for a scrub Hasheem Thabeet. Houston’s Aaron Brooks switched places with Phoenix’s Goran Dragic. Blazers gave up their only backup center, two no names, two first round draft picks and cash for Gerald Wallace.

Boston wins for the most random and unnecessary trades. Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson got sent to Oklahoma for Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic and 2012 first round pick. Marquis Daniels got sent to Sacramento for cash and second round pick. Both rookies Semih Erden and Luke Harangody got sent to Cleveland for second round pick. Rumor has it they want to free up space to sign Troy Murphy after he gets bought out by Golden State. Congratulations Boston, you now have no front court depth and no longer pose a threat as a great defensive team. If Murphy becomes a Celtic, that will make three new players who can’t defend. The O’Neals are done, they don’t count. All this because they needed a swingman to backup for Pierce and Danny Ainge expected Perkins to walk when he’s a free agent after refusing to sign an extension. And Jeff Green will most likely be a rental just for this season.

Oklahoma is the clear winner in this year’s trade deadline and became a championship contender over night. They add much needed front court depth with Perkins and Nazr Mohammed. Letting Jeff Green go was great for them because they wouldn’t pay him what he wanted, they’re giving that money to Russell Westbrook. I feel sorry for Seattle fans. They got robbed of a future Western Conference Champions and possible dynasty.

2011 All-Star game shoes

The All-Star weekend is coming up this week. And what better to usher it in than showcasing colorful shoes that will only be worn at the All-star game. Above are the Nike Zoom Kobe VI in fiery red. Kobe’s and Lebron’s (below) Nike LeBron 8 V/2 have reflective material on the tongue, the logo morphs from each player’s logo to conference logo. The rest are Kevin Durant’s reddified Nike Zoom KD3, Derrick Rose’s all-yellow adidas adiZero Rose, and Kevin Garnett’s silvered-up Anta KG1. Rose’s shoe would look great with a Laker jersey.

Rajon Rondo trolls for the win

Posted by slammo in Celtics, Dwyane Wade, Funny, Heat, LeBron

Rajon Rondo activated his Gollum defense against LeBron James on Sunday. It proved successful as LeBron shot 10-21 from the field. Pro-tip for the rest of the league, this is how you defend LeBron.

And it helps to continue trolling even during timeouts.

Glen Davis can’t jump

Glen “Big Baby” Davis lives up to his nickname and barely lifts off from the ground. Frustrated bump plus Chris Bosh flop combo makes this a certified classic NBA moment.

Marvel NBA gear revealed

Posted by slammo in Celtics, Knicks, Lakers, News

Basketball nerds and comic book nerds shake their heads in unison. These designs look like bootlegs you can find at your local Chinatown. Very lazy designs all around. We all knew it was a quick cash grab scheme but damn. It’s as if they spent less than 30 minutes in photoshop for each design. They seem to be targeting the young crowd rather than young adults with disposable income. Bad move. Marvel NBA gear is set to debut All-Star weekend.

Great insights by Onion Sports Dome. Special appearance by the legend himself, Gary Payton. Dallas lost in this trade imo.

Homemade Lakers Vs Celtics Christmas Game Hype Video

Posted by Admin in Celtics, Lakers, Video

Nicely made highlight mix trailer – The hype surrounding this game is massive. I predict the Lakers to lose by double digits, possibly by 20+ points. Lakers barely eeked out a victory last night against the lowly Grizzlies. Prior to that game, they lost 2 in a row. Meanwhile the C’s are playing like they have a chip on their shoulder. The “We need to be better than last year” chip. Bottom line, the Lakers are not ready for the Celtics.

Kevin Garnett Suspended for 1 Game

Posted by Admin in Celtics, News

it’s about time KG got tagged up. He got away with taunting Jose Calderon a week ago.

for some reason this clip reminds me of Bogut’s ghost slapping at the free throw line from last season (click here).

from the Boston Herald

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended one game without pay by the league for his role in Saturday night’s scuffle with the Bucks in Milwaukee.

Garnett struck Bucks center Andrew Bogut in the face with 3:58 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Celtics [team stats]’ 102-97 win at the Bradley Center.

The suspension was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations.
