Lebron James was greeted to these signs, taunts and more. Lebron then thank Cleveland by scoring 38 points and sitting out the 4th.
The shirt reads: “The Lyin’ King. I got a goal, and that’s to bring an NBA championship in Cleveland, and I won’t stop until I get it. – LeBron James.”
Back in the 90′s, I saw Nick Van Exel score 11 points in a minute for the Lakers but LeBron easily tops it with this sequence. A couple of LB’s bombs were from waaaay beyond the arc with defenders draped over him.
Who do you think had a better night?
Kobe – 61 points breaks the scoring record at MSG
or
Lebron – first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975 to tally a triple-double while also scoring 50-plus points. (scratch that, no trip/dub – the League took the 10th rebounds away from LeBron and gave it to Ben Wallace)
Nearly everyone at Staples Center was on edge. Everyone except the ‘Machine’. Sasha Vujacic was unfazed by Boston’s tight defense, letting his jumper rip whenever he got space. Even after Kobe BRyant yells at him for missing a jumper, he jacked up another one play later. The Machine made 7-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-5 on 3-pointers, and scored 20 points off the bench in the Lakers’ 87-81 Game 3 victory.
Kobe Bryant on Sasha after the game:
“The Machine played like a machine,” Bryant said. “He’s gotten better as the season has gone on, not just being a spot-up shooter but being able to put the ball on the floor one or two bounces and taking a step back. He’s really developed into a well-rounded scorer.”
The C’s did what the Pistons couldn’t do last year – Get past LeBron and the Cavs. LeBron scored 45 points but was offset by Paul Pierce’s 41 and P.J. Brown’s clutch performance in the 4th quarter.
Paul Pierce Highlights from yesterday’s game
Post-game talk. See what LeBron has to say about Pierce
Last night in Boston was the setting for one of the ugliest playoff games in recent memory. 3 stars go on to combine 4 for 36 shooting. LeBron James had his worst night ever at 2 for 18.
Espn.com quickly points out that last night’s fiasco was LeBron’s worst of worst, followed by a 3-for-20 performance against the Sixers on March 18, 2005; a 2-for-13 night against the Clippers on December 3, 2003; and another 2-for-13 bungler on February 11, 2004. Note that those last two games happened during LeBron’s rookie year and none of them occurred during the playoffs.
Despite ‘Bron’s impotence on the court, the Cavs still had a chance to win, until this play.
I fully expect LeBron to bounce back. After all, he really can’t do worse than .111 percent shooting.
