They really thought a scorer that doesn’t play defense added to a team full of scorers that don’t play defense was supposed to make them a better team. D’Antoni is the least of their problems. If George Karl can’t get Melo to play D, I don’t know who else can. All Knicks fan can do is not care too much until Chris Paul comes to NY in 2012.

When the locker room first opened to reporters after the game, Stoudemire and Anthony were bantering and laughing about players on the Miami Heat crying after their loss earlier Sunday to the Chicago Bulls, with Stoudemire fingering Chris Bosh(notes) as the watery-eyed one (although Bosh, when asked by reporters in Miami whether he had cried, said he almost had but did not).

“I heard Chris Bosh was crying tears,” Stoudemire said.

“Tears?” Anthony asked.

“Yeah, tears,” Stoudemire replied.

“Wait ’til I call him, man,” Anthony said. “I’ll be like: ‘What are you doing?’”

Very appropriate response for two very competitive players. Heat deserve to get clowned for this soft shit. This is a regular season game. C’mon! Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and all the other greats are shaking their head in disgust at the Heat.

Amar’e Stoudemire has an entertainment state of mind

Amar’e Stoudemire is probably playing the best basketball of his career right now. Melo and Chauncey Billups just joined him. And Chris Paul will most likely join him in the near future. His New York life only gets better from here. He shares some insight into his personal life with Gotham Magazine.

“I think New York girls are a lot of fun,” says the single 28-year-old. “There’s so much to do in New York, so if you have an entertainment state of mind, your dating life is going to be pretty interesting.”
