When Kobe wins – so do his teammates.

Bryant dropped some serious cash on Jaeger-LeCoultre watches for his teammates as a `thank you’ for helping him win the MVP award this season.
The watches, each hand made by Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmakers, were flown from Switzerland straight to Los Angeles and personalized with an engraving of the year and each player’s name.
The price tag on each watch was over $9,000
My only question is does Kwame Brown also get a watch? I doubt he’ll get anything but wouldn’t it be funny if the Lakers and Kobe gave him a ‘Thank You’ gift for his part in the Pau Gasol trade.

Ray Allen: Can we even call what Ray-Ray’s going through a “slump” anymore? His jump shot is more cadaverous than Hugh Hefner. I think it’s safe to announce the time of death and arrange the funeral. I wonder of Paul Bearer is available to give the eulogy…
Still, the C’s are managing to win while Allen struggles. Look out world when Ray Allen comes back to life.

What happened to the Hornets? For a team that beat the Spurs at home by an average of 20 points they sure pulled a 180 last night. How’d they blow it? Chris Paul wasn’t assertive enough on offense (only 18 points, 7 points below his playoff average), Jannero Pargo took too many shots (6-for-16), Peja Stojakovic played like a mere mortal, and Bonzi Wells was nonexistent (0-1).
The team somehow ran away from the formula that got them those 20-point wins in the previous 3 games. They stopped feeding David West the rock and somehow let Jannero Pargo become the first option. The whole team pretty much blew it.
End Rant.

Nets investor and music executive Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will represent the Nets at the NBA Draft Lottery tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20. The Draft Lottery will be televised live on ESPN from 8 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons. The actual draft will be held on June 26.
“This is very exciting and I hope my nickname ‘Lucky Lefty’ holds up,” said Carter.
In the Draft Lottery for the first time since 2001, the Nets have a 1.1 percent chance of receiving the first pick of the Draft, and less than a 4 percent chance of securing one of the top 3 selections. Based on their 2007-08 season record, the Nets would likely have the 10th pick of the Draft if they don’t secure a top 3 selection.
Now can we get Beyonce to open up the envelopes instead of David Stern?
